Frequently Asked Questions
This FAQ page provides clear, practical information about the counseling process, from what sessions look like to how to get started. I aim to make your experience as transparent and accessible as possible. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me.
What are counseling and therapy?
Counseling and therapy provide a safe, confidential space to talk openly about what's on your mind. Together, we'll work to better understand the challenges you're facing, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop new ways of coping, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable.
How do I know if counseling or therapy is right for me?
You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, sad, depressed, or stuck. Or perhaps you're going through a difficult life transition or feel ready to talk about a painful experience or trauma you've carried for a long time.
If you've been wondering whether therapy might be right for you, it's worth paying attention to that feeling. I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss what's bringing you to counseling, answer your questions, and see whether we're a good fit.
What happens during the first session?
During the first session, we'll explore what has been happening in your life, what you would like help with, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I'll answer any questions you may have and explain how I work. We'll also begin discussing the goals you'd like to work toward.
How long will I need therapy?
There is no set timeline. Some people come for a few months, while others choose longer-term counseling, depending on their goals and needs. We'll regularly check in to make sure our work continues to meet your needs. How long we work together is always your choice.
How often will we meet?
Most people meet once a week, and sessions last 50 minutes. Depending on your needs, we may decide together to meet more or less frequently.
In what languages do you offer counseling and therapy?
I offer counseling and therapy in both English and Spanish. Being able to speak in the language that feels most natural can help you express yourself more comfortably.
Do you work with individuals or couples?
I work with both individuals and couples.
Do you offer online counseling?
Yes. All sessions are conducted online.
How can I schedule appointments?
You can schedule your first appointment through the online booking system on this website. Future appointments can be scheduled online or with me at the end of each session.
What are your fees?

How do I get started?
The first step is to schedule a free 20-minute consultation. We'll discuss what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and see whether we’re a good fit. You can book your consultation through the online booking system on this website.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged the full session fee. If you need to reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice, I'll do my best to offer another appointment that same week, although I can't guarantee availability.
